TRANE gives update on courthouse renovations

Monday’s meeting of the Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners began with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayerful acknowledgment of the tragedy endured on Sept. 11, 2001.

Chris Farve from TRANE then gave an update on the ongoing renovations to the courthouse, and some of what to expect in coming months.

“Overall, it’s been a very interesting adventure and a good historical learning lesson on how things were done,” Favre said, speaking to some of the ways in which the architecture has changed from the building’s initial conception to now.

Favre also emphasized their focus on “maintaining good housekeeping procedure” and said that there have been “no reportable incidents.” Commissioner David Walker commended this and said that those he’s talked to have echoed those praises.

Favre added that one key feature they are waiting on is the main breaker, which is expected to arrive in early October. Work on the air conditioning unit over courtroom one is expected to begin later that month.

— Bristlecone Rd. Project The commissioners also discussed a few items regarding the Bristlecone Rd. project. Signatures for purchasing Right of Ways, as well as a 324A claim for the project were approved. However, any action on unattainable lien waivers for the project was tabled following concerns about who would be liable for the structure.

• Emergency Management: Laptop – The commissioners rejected a bid for two or more 2015 or newer Day Cab Trucks, stating that the bid received from Premiere was for a standard transmission when automatic was requested. The board subsequently approved an initiation to rebid on the trucks.
