Lady Knights thump Davenport to extend win streak

The Henryetta Lady Knight varsity fastpitch softball team extended their current win streak to 13 games last Thursday with an 11-1 victory over the visiting Davenport Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Knights were back in action Tuesday with a home meeting against the Roland Lady Rangers and will compete at the Silo Tournament this Thursday-Saturday, playing Pool Play games against Davis (10:30 a.m.) and Washington JV (1:30 p.m.) on Thursday and Broken Bow (12 p.m.) and Silo (4:30 p.m.) on Friday. If the Lady Knights finish in the Top 3 in their Pool, they will compete for either the tournament championship, third-place, or consolation trophy on Saturday.

In last Thursday’s home meeting with Davenport, the lone run for the visitors came in the top of the third.

Henryetta opened the scoring with a run in the last of the first, then added five in each of the second and third innings for the 11-1 decision.

Allie Davis earned the pitching win for the Lady Knights, allowing one run on one hit with two walks and six strikeouts in four innings of work.

The top hitters for Henryetta in the run-rule win were McKayla Greenhaw (2 for 3, 2 singles), Shelby Kilhoffer (2 for 3, 2 singles, 3 RBIs), Serenity Rex (2 for 3, single, double, 4 RBIs), and Maddie Rock (2 for 3, 2 singles) with two hits apiece.

The final two base hits for the Lady Knights against Davenport came on a single by Davis and a 2-run single by Kassidy Lee.

Other baserunners last Thursday were Greenhaw (walk), Lee (walk, error), Davis (RBI walk), Ailanee Hicks (2 walks), Winter Beaver (walk, RBI hit by pitch), and Kinley Miller (walk, fielder’s choice).

Rex drove in the first run for the Lady Knights with an RBI sacrifice fly in the first.
