Henryetta trounces Roland, Heavener to remain perfect in district standings

The current win streak for the Henryetta Lady Knight varsity fastpitch softball team reached 12 on Tuesday with a 10-0 home win over the Heavener Lady Wolves.

The Lady Knights began the week with a 12-3 victory over the Roland Lady Rangers for their 11thstraight win.

The wins over Roland and Heavener came in district play and improved Henryetta’s District 3A-8 record to 8-0 and the only unbeaten district team in the 3A-8 standings. Eufaula (6-1) and Vian (6-2) are second and third in the district standings, respectively, followed by Spiro (4-5), Heavener (2-6), Roland (0-5), and Okmulgee (0-7).

The Lady Knights closed out this week’s action Thursday at home against Davenport and will also be at home Tuesday against Roland before competing at the Silo Tournament next Thursday-Saturday.

In Monday’s road win at Roland, the Lady Knights opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first, then added a run in the third, two in the fourth, and four in the fifth for a commanding 8-0 advantage after four and one-half innings of action.

Kilhoffer’s roundtrippers came on a 2-run blast in the fourth and a 3-run shot in the seventh, while Hicks connected on a solo home run in the seventh.

The final two base hits against Roland came on a single by Kinley Miller and an RBI single by Chloe Swearingen.

Other Henryetta baserunners in Monday’s road win were Greenhaw (2 walks), Kilhoffer (walk, fielder’s choice), Hicks (walk), and Swearingen (walk).

Allie Davis was awarded the pitching win for the Lady Knights on Monday, allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts in seven innings of work.

In Tuesday’s shutout win over Heavener, the Henryetta offense began the scoring with a run in the home half of the first, then added five in the second and four in the fourth for the 10-0 decision.

The top hitters for the Lady Knights on Tuesday were Serenity Rex (2 for 3, 2 singles, 2 RBIs) and Winter Beaver (2 for 3, single, double, 2 RBIs) with two hits apiece.
