Wilson continues winning ways with victory over Wewoka
By LARRY OWEN SPORTS EDITOR,

The Wilson Lady Tiger varsity fastpitch softball team continued their winning ways this past Monday evening with a decisive 22-3 win on the road against the Wewoka Lady Tigers. The run-rule win puts the Wilson ladies at 6-3 on the season and were back in action Tuesday at home against county rival Dewar. See Page 1 of today’s edition for complete details of Tuesday’s county battle in Wilson. In Monday’s road win over Wewoka, the host Lady Tigers tallied a run in the bottom of the second and added two more in the third for their three runs in the contest. The Wilson ladies began the scoring with five runs in the top of the first, then added four in the second for a 9-0 advantage. The visiting Lady Tigers put the game out of reach in the top of the fourth, erupting for 13 runs in the frame for the 22-3 decision. The top hitters for the Wilson diamond squad in Monday’s run-rule win were Gracie Bear (3 for 3, single, double, triple, 3 RBIs) and Jayda Pinkston (3 for 3, 3 singles, 2 RBIs) with three hits each. Other Wilson batters with multi-hit games Monday at Wewoka were Janelle Proctor (2 for 5, 2 singles, 4 RBIs), Jamie Proctor (2 for 5, single, double, RBI), Kaylee Earhart (2 for 3, triple, home run, 5 RBIs), and Kaozong Yang (2 for 3, single, triple, RBI) with two hits apiece. Earhart’s roundtripper came on a 3-run blast in the first. The final two base hits for the visiting Lady Tigers came on singles by Ty Williams and Alyna Earhart.
