Thirty Henryettans attended the “Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Awards Banquet” in Oklahoma City. The Glass Awareness Committee, National Honor Society of Henryetta High School and City of Henryetta all received awards.
Inmates involved in the Prisoners Public Works Project helped out city crews and saved the city some money. Ten prisoners worked at that time.
Henryetta held a scrimmage against the Davenport Bulldogs. The coaches stayed with their plans to run their basic plays of dives, sweeps, two-pass plays and a straight defense throughout the scrimmage.

Henryetta Vice Mayor Lyman Cady, a local
PPG Industries Executive, was awarded his college degree in Liberal Studies.
Joan Brooks, wife of a PPG Official, was presented a silver tray as an award for the Works 10 Community Service award of the year.
Police made no arrests in the great toilet paper case. Dawn revealed pink and yellow toilet paper was strung up in the trees on 5th, 7th and 8th Streets. It was allegedly a bunch of boys throwing caution to the wind, ignoring the national paper shortage.

More than 50 Henryetta
Masons visited with the Masonic Lodge and put on degree work. The Henryetta Degree team conducted the work and initiated a candidate into the Mater Mason’s Degree.
Henryetta Mattress Factory requested people bring their new and second hand furniture and mattresses to them so they could renovate and resell the items.
Sheriff John Russell declared much good work and satisfaction in maintaining law and order to his deputies in the Henryetta district.
