“You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:5-8) Are you perfect? That’s a silly question to be asking, you say. But that seems to be the world’s view of how believers should be. And when they show they aren’t? Well, the world puts them right up there on the cross like they did with Christ. But you know what? That’s to be expected, because Jesus told us the world would hate us because it hated Him first, so perhaps we should just look for that kind of response. No, Christians aren’t perfect yet - but we work toward that end.
