“He was our anchor and our glue,” the Hiatts said about Madden.

Henryetta boasts a rich cowboy history that is celebrated twice a year with the annual Jim Shoulders Spring Roundup Rodeo and the Living Legends Rodeo.
The Roy Madden Spring Roundup Rodeo is held each June and the Jim Shoulders Living Legends PRCA Rodeo is held Labor Day weekend.
Both are held at the historic Nichols Park rodeo arena. There is plenty of free parking and lots of seating for the events. Hundreds of people turn out each year for the two rodeos that pay homage to Jim Shoulders, America’s five time All-Around World Champion.
Both draw some of the top cowboys and cowgirls from around the nation to compete in the various events ranging from bronc riding to barrel racing, bull riding to calf roping.
