Swallow brothers finish in Top 2 at U.S. Kids Golf Spring Tour

Henryetta youth Easton and Jett Swallow took home some hardware from Sunday’s U.S. Kids Golf Foundation Spring Tour Championship at Bailey Ranch Golf Course in Owasso.

Jett Swallow captured the Boys 6 & Under tour championship, while Easton Swallow was runner-up in the Boys 11-Year Old Division.

The championship is the first title for Jett Swallow, who finished third overall in the Fall 2022 Tulsa Tour, while Easton Swallow – the 2021 Spring champion – finishes as the Spring Tour runner-up for the second-straight year.

Jett Swallow finished first at Sunday’s tour championship, carding an Even-Par 36 during the 9-hole event. The tour championship win was the fifth victory of the season and his best score of the season. Sullivan Smith of Tulsa was second overall on Sunday with a 7-over 43. Smith finished runner-up in four of the six tournaments the Tulsa youth competed at this Spring (Smith won the other two tournaments without any competition).

At Sunday’s tour championship tournament, Jett Swallow began the event with a double bogey and bogey, respectively, on the first two holes, then carded an eagle on the Par-4 No. 3 to go in front at 1-over. A birdie on No. 4 brought the Henryetta youth to Even-Par, while Smith had a triple bogey on No. 4 to sit five strokes behind Swallow.

Jett Swallow finished the final five holes with scores of bogey, par, eagle, bogey, and par, respectively, for the Even-Par 36.

Smith’s final five holes featured double bogey on No. 5, pars on No. 6 and 7, bogey on No. 8, and birdie on No. 9 for a 7-over 43.

Jett Swallow’s other four tournament wins (scores in parentheses) this Spring came March 26 at Rock Creek Golf Course in Sapulpa (43), April 2 at Page Belcher Golf Course in Tulsa (42), April 16 at Mohawk Park Golf Club in Tulsa (40), and April 30 at the Muskogee Golf and Country Club (39).

Easton Swallow finished third overall at Sunday’s tour championship with a 12-over 84. The Henryetta youth finished behind Basford (76) and Greyson Perna (81), respectively. Swallow carded a 7-over 43 on the Front 9 and finished the 18-hole event with a 5-over 41 on the Back 9.

Easton Swallow began Sunday’s tour championship with an Even-Par on No. 1, then carded scores of bogey, bogey, double bogey, bogey, birdie, double bogey, par, and bogey for the 7-over 43. Swallow began the Back 9 with three-straight bogeys before carding back-to-back pars on the next two holes to sit at 10-over with four holes remaining. Swallow carded bogeys on 15 and 17 and pars on 16 and 18 to finish the Back 9 with a 5-over 41 and an 18-hole total of 84.

In three of the seven tournaments this season, Easton Swallow finished as the tournament runner-up. Swallow’s second-place finishes came March 19 at Pryor Creek Golf Course with an 84, March 26 at Rock Creek Golf Course in Sapulpa with an 80, and April 30 at the Muskogee Golf and Country Club with an 87. Swallow captured the tournament championship at the April 2 event at the Page Belcher Golf Course in Tulsa with an 86, then finished fourth at the April 16 tournament at Mohawk Park Golf Club in Tulsa with an 85 and tied for third with Greyson Perna at the May 7 tournament at the Page Belcher Golf Course with an 84.

Wyatt Basford of Tuttle was the tour champion in the Boys 11-Year Old division, winning all six tournaments he competed in this Spring.
