Two subjects found in business
A Henryetta man is in jail after being charged in connection with the burglary of a local business.
Hunter Payne Stewart, 20, was taken into custody May 9 on a warrant.
According to the court document, on April 29 at 9:15 a.m., Muscogee Lighthorse officers were working a business burglary in the 1800 block of Hazel. An officer discovered Stewart hiding in a pile of insulation.
Due to his non-Native status, the Henryetta police responded to the scene and took Stewart into custody.
The affidavit stated Stewart admitted to his part in the pre-planned burglary of the business with another subject, who was Native American.
Stewart apparently opened the door of the building, and then assisted in the removal of parts from a forklift that was inside the shop building.
Neither man arrested had permission to be on the property or building.
Stewart was scheduled to appear May 1 in district court, but because he was a no-show, a warrant was issued with bond set at $10,000.
