By LARRY OWEN SPORTS EDITOR,

The Beggs Golden Demons and Okmulgee Bulldogs met in Beggs Monday evening for a county varsity baseball contest.

The Beggs Golden Demons and Okmulgee Bulldogs met in Beggs Monday evening for a county varsity baseball contest.

The host Demons came out of the county battle with the 15-0 decision in three innings.

Beggs opened the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the first, then added seven in the second and four in the third for the shutout win.

The visiting Bulldogs were held hitless in the contest with the only baserunners coming on four walks. The Okmulgee hitters that drew a base on balls on Monday were Jordan Deere, Joseph Robertson, Brandon Simon, and Ryder Hedges.

Alex Gilmour was saddled with the pitching loss for Okmulgee, allowing 10 runs on five hits with four walks and three hit batters in an inning and onethird of work.

Simon worked the final 1.1 innings in relief for the Bulldogs, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out two and walking two.

Gage Tennyson got the start on the mound for Beggs and recorded the 3-inning, no-hit, shutout win. Tennyson struck out three and walked four in the complete-game pitching performance.

Tennyson (3 for 3, 3 singles, 4 RBIs) and Braylon Davis (3 for 3, single, double, triple, 3 RBIs) led the offensive attack for Beggs with three hits apiece.

The other Demon base hits in Monday’s county battle came on singles by Ranson Stephens and Colton McCoy, double by Nate Melton, and 2-run double by Caden Collins. Stephens drove in a run in the first with an RBI groundout, while Collins also had an RBI walk in the second.

Dakota Hudson drove in a run in the second with an RBI sacrifice fly, while Jerrett Hammer had an RBI groundout in the third for the Demons that ended the game on the run rule.

Carson Cooper drove in a pair of runs for Beggs in the county contest with two RBI walks.

The two county diamond squads were scheduled to complete the homeand- home District 3A-5 series Tuesday in Okmulgee, but the contest was moved to Wednesday afternoon in Beggs.
