Okmulgee County Emergency Management Director Tim Craighton submitted his resignation effective immediately during Monday’s meeting of the county commissioners.
Assistant District Attorney Carmen Rainbolt presented the commissioners with Craighton’s resignation letter during New Business, and returned keys to the various facilities and vehicles.
Craighton has served as Director of Emergency Management, Floodplain Administrator, Safety Director, and Director of 911 Communications.
He has been involved in fire service and emergency management services for 37 years.
The commissioners thanked Craighton for his many years of dedicated service.
“Tim, thank you for your service, your years of outstanding service to this county,” Commissioner Erik Zoellner said.
During Monday’s session, District 3 Commissioner Michael Wal- lace was named to serve on the Okmulgee County Board of Health.
Agenda items approved were:
• Officers Report from Election Board and Treasurer’s Office.
• Blanket Purchase Orders: District 1 to Dollar General for $100 and to S&H Auto for $1,000; Sheriff ’s Office to The Oil Pit for $500.
• Employee Forms: Donation of sick leave from Ernie Ferreria to Patrick Sweetin; Randy Maloney, District 1, employment ceased; Tim Robertson, District 3, employment ceased; Kary Heath, OCSO, full-time; Requisitioning and Receiving Officers for the Sheriff ’s Department.
• Utility Permits - District 3 with ONG and with Rural Water District #7; District 2 with Rural Water District #20.
• Private Property Agreements: District 1 with Jim Husong for removal of brush and replace tin horn; and with Julie Bryant, disposal of dirt.
• Invitation to Bid #16 for 2022 or newer truck for District 3.
• Resolution to pay Appraisal Date Service for $900 out of County Use Tax.
• Payment of Claims $284,129.24
• Monthly Appropriations.
