Okmulgee police are investigating two shooting incidents that are likely related; one in which resulted in a man being injured.
Chief Joe Prentice stated the first incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on March 12 in the area of Randolph and Ohio. Shots were reportedly fired into a vehicle.
Prentice stated no one was struck in that shooting.
The second shooting was reported Monday morning around 2:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Collins.
“Several rounds were fired into a residence,” Chief Prentice said. “The resident, 41-year-old Bryan Meneley, was struck one time in the hip area. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.”
The chief stated both information about the shootings were being investigated, and he believes both to be related, and may be tied to an earlier burglary at the residence on North Collins.
“Officers have developed names of possible suspects and at least one is a juvenile,” Prentice said. “Investigators are working to determine who is involved and what their involvement is.” More info will be provided when it is available.
