An Okmulgee man was critically injured in a twovehicle accident that occurred on Saturday at 2:39 p.m. on Hwy. 138 at North 2220 Road, four miles southwest of Cordell in Washita County.
An Okmulgee man was critically injured in a twovehicle accident that occurred on Saturday at 2:39 p.m. on Hwy. 138 at North 2220 Road, four miles southwest of Cordell in Washita County.
Vehicles involved included a 2015 Harley Davidson, driven by Darren L. LeFlore, 39, of Krebs and a 2021 Indian motorcycle, driven by James R. Lashmet, 45, of Okmulgee.
According to the accident report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Trooper Travis Hale, both motorcycles were northbound on Hwy. 183 when LeFlore swerved into Lashmet’s but did not make contact. Both vehicles then lost control due to high winds, departing the roadway to the left.
LeFlore was transported by Survival Flight to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in fair condition with trunk internal and leg injuries.
Lashmet was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
Cause of the collision was reported due to high winds.
A helmet was in use by both drivers. Trooper Adam Mitchell, Washita County Sheriff ’s Office, Cordell EMS and Cordell Fire Department assisted with the accident.
