Two new Henryetta businesses, 3 Bears Sales & Rental and Native Arms & Trading Company, officially opened at the end of summer.
For the past few years, Phillip Agee, the business owner and Henryetta resident, was able to do firearms sales part-time while at his previous job.
“Once I was able to acquire this property,” he said, “I knew the guns and ammunition would do well out here. As I talked about it, I also saw a need for equipment rental.” 3 Bears Sales & Rental offers an extensive variety of equipment including skid steers with implements, grapple bucket, pallet forks, stump planter, manual auger, T-post driver, walk-behind trencher, mini excavator, walk-behind brush cutter, drain snakes, concrete saw, scissor lifts and boom lifts and much more.
“The nearest place to rent is out of Sapulpa or McAlester,” Agee said. “With opening our new location, a number of people such as U-Haul and Ron’s Portable Buildings have reached out to partner with us. We figured with the property we have, we might as well make the best of it and take every opportunity we can.”
On Wednesday afternoon, a new shipment of portable buildings arrived at 3 Bears Sales & Rental.
“Portable buildings all have easy financing, with no credit check,” he added. “We are also a U-Haul drop-off and pick up location.”
An additional service, minor work with land/acreage clearing and trenching is offered, depending upon the job.
Through Native Arms & Trading Company, a wide variety of firearms and ammunition are available, as well as pawn shop.
Anything from revolvers to tactical rifles, shotguns and knives are in stock.
“We have a really good supply of ammunition,” Agee added. “Some ammunition is harder to find than others, but we try to have an ample supply of calibers and we sell several calibers with bulk discounts.”
If something is not in stock, you can find it on Native Arms & Trading Co. website at www.kofirearms. com. “If we don’t have it in store, visit our website and order it,” Agee said, “have it shipped to our store and we call you, you fill out paperwork and leave with your order.”
Native Arms has partnered with Gearfire Capital to offer financing for firearms.
“They have an easy credit check and give pretty fair terms,” Agee added. “Financing is offered from $500 up to $10,000, depending on credit rating and things like that.”
Through pawn, many high-quality items are sought by Agee including jewelry, trailers, boats, ATV’s, power tools with several items currently available in the store.
It was noted that by February, it’s possible even more things will be offered in the way of sales.
“We would like people to know we do have other endeavors coming this way to offer to the community,” Agee said. “We really appreciate everybody’s support. You’ve really helped us and allowed us to grow. We are 100% Native-owned. Everybody on the payroll is a member of the Creek Nation.”
On a daily basis, there are more than a handful of visitors from cities such as McAlester to Bartlesville and Owasso as well as local traffic.
Beginner firearms, conceal carry and pistol fundamentals classes are another service offered by Agee.
“Classes start with all the basics, from how to grip the firearm, break it down and how to clean it safely,” he said.
Agee’s sister, Kristen Tarwater joined him as a staff member for both businesses.
“Kristen does a lot of the maintenance on our equipment,” he said. “She’s very mechanical, knowledgeable and a very skilled carpenter too.”
Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
