Through the GM First Responder Appreciation Program, Mike Bailey Motors in Henryetta presented a $5,150 donation to Plainview Volunteer Fire Department on Friday morning.
“Each dealer sets up and raises money for an area fire department,” Clint Carpenter, Mike Bailey Motors Sales Manager, said. “$5,000 of the donation was up front and we continued to raise an additional $150.”
Since the excessive drought and fires have been especially tough on rural fire departments, staff at the dealership said they hope this donation helps aid first responders.
“Here at Mike Bailey Motors, we are always proud to support our first responders,” staff said. “We greatly appreciate everything they do for us and the community.”
Plainview firefighters and volunteers on hand for the presentation were Lester Sullivan, Fire Chief; Quinton Story, Matt Page, Rick Pippin, Melanie Pippin, Sonny Farrow and Steve Story.
Staff of Mike Bailey Motors present were Mike Bailey, owner; Clint Carpenter, Kendra Sellers, Tracy Durrett, Sean Counts, Tammy Story and Josh Parker.
The GM First Responder Program makes it possible for paid or volunteer firefighters, police, sheriffs and deputies, correctional officers, state troopers, federal law enforcement officers, EMTs and 911 dispatchers and their spouses to obtain a special offer on the purchase of eligible Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles.
For every sale of a newly-purchased GM vehicle, Mike Bailey Motors added a portion of the proceeds to the donation.
“We are very appreciative of this donation from Mike Bailey Motors,” Chief Sullivan said. “It will really help Plainview Volunteer Fire Department with our operating costs through the year.”
