With a recent surge of the flu and COVID-19 in the community, Utica Park Clinic (UPC) in Henryetta is now providing an afterhours clinic with extra appointments available.
Extended clinic hours are on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“We started seeing a surge in patients wanting appointments or walk-ins and we simply couldn’t keep up,” Rashelle Phelps, APRNCNP with Utica Park Clinic, said. “We started the after- hours clinic in September due to demand and it has been a good response. Most people are appreciative to have an opportunity to come to our clinic without having to take off work, leave early or take their kids out of school. We treat patients of all ages.”
Phelps noted that there has been a surge of flu and COVID-19-related illnesses within hospitals and clinics all across the nation.
“We are seeing a lot of flu A and flu B, some COVID-19 and even strep throat,” Phelps said. “Like other clinics, we have also seen positive RSV cases at our Utica Park Clinic in Henryetta.”
There are several patients who have taken advantage of the after-hours clinic who have returned and became one of Phelps’ long-term patients.
Utica Park Clinic is located at Hillcrest Hospital Henryetta at 2405 W. Main Street in Suite A.
