Christ Is Christmas Family Fundraiser

Christ Is Christmas Family Fundraiser

Tulledega Hills Gospel Music Theater will host Christ Is Christmas, a fundraiser to help area families in need, on Saturday, Dec. 10 with a night of laughter and singing for the whole family.

Four featured guest performances include The Alversons at 5 p.m., Leon The Jokester at 6 p.m., Gary Gibson at 7 p.m. and Mark Huitt at 8 p.m.

There will also be a Pie Auction. Admission is a donation of $10 per person. Children will be admitted for free.

All proceeds will go to benefit the purchase of gift cards to be given to area families in need.

More detailed information will be available as the event date nears.

Tulledega Hills Theater is located at 3000 W. Main Street in Henryetta.

Christmas Extravaganza

Joy In Life Ministries will host a special Christmas Extravaganza for Henryetta and the surrounding communities on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All area families are welcome and encouraged to attend this free event.

In addition to hay rides and train rides, hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn will be available.

With live music playing during the event, everyone in attendance will undoubtedly have a most entertaining time.

Joy In Life is located at 611 E. Trudgeon in Henryetta.

Special Guest Ministry

This Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m., Henryetta Church of God will host a special guest minister, Pastor Bill Bell.

Pastor Bell will provide ministry with singing, preaching and worship during the morning service.

Dec. 13

County Republican Meeting

Okmulgee County Republicans will host Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell as special guest speaker for their regular monthly meeting set for Tuesday, Dec. 13.

The meeting will be held at the American Legion located at 730 W. 6th Street in Okmulgee.

A business meeting will be held at 6 p.m. for anyone interested in becoming more involved within the county group.

The regular meeting featuring Lt. Pinell begins at 6:30 p.m.

Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell Biography

Elected as the 17th Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma on Nov. 6, 2018, Matt Pinnell serves as President of the Oklahoma State Senate and on multiple boards and commissions.

In addition, Pinnell serves as Secretary of Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage.

He spends a large portion of his time promoting tourism, Oklahoma’s third largest industry.

Partnering with the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, he launched the Oklahoma Fishing Trail, Oklahoma Road Trip and #OKHereWeGO tourism campaigns, which generated more than $91 million in revenue since 2019.

Pinnell spearheaded renovation projects within Oklahoma State Parks, providing necessary updates to bathrooms, lodges and campgrounds.

He is a recruiter for companies looking to move or expand to Oklahoma.

Each year, Pinnell hosts the Lt. Governor’s Turkey Hunt, a two-week event that showcases Oklahoma to prospective out-of-state companies and site selection representatives.

In 2020, he launched a statewide rebrand that streamlined state agency processes while saving taxpayer dollars.

As an entrepreneur, Pinnell champions small business growth while serving on an Oklahoma Department of Commerce committee that focuses on small business growth, entrepreneurship and workforce development.

In 2022, he launched A Look at Oklahoma CareerTech, a video interview series that showcases education and employment opportunities in the state’s CareerTech system.

Elderly Nutrition Meals

MC Nutrition Services located at 211 S. 11th Street in Henryetta provides meals to those ages 60 and older Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a $1.50 donation.

All senior citizens in the community are encouraged to join in a nutricious and dellicious meal.

Angels In Recovery

It’s hard to fight alone. Angels in Recovery is a group designed for women only. Fight your addiction with other women who know the fight you’re facing.

Join Angels in Recovery every Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the Youth Building at the Henryetta Nazarene Church located on the corner of 7th and Trudgeon.

Win your battle!

'Rez Recovery” Saturdays

'Rez Recovery' AA meetings with Casey Thomas will be held every Saturday at 4 p.m. at Tulledega Hills Theater located at 3000 W. Main Street in Henryetta.

Worn Flags Sought

Henryetta Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 539 is currently collecting used and worn flags that will be properly disposed of during a flag retirement ceremony that is to be announced sometime in the future.

Flags can be dropped off at the Henryetta Free-Lance office located at 302 W. Main Street.

“Instead of throwing away your American flag,” Post 539 Vice Commander Hugh “Rooster” Jackson said, “bring them to the Free-Lance office so we can provide a suitable retirement.”

Community Breakfast

Tulledega Masonic Lodge No. 201 in Henryetta will host a Community Breakfast on the third Saturday of each month. During the month of December no breakfast will be held.

Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for $8 per person.

Lodge No. 201 is located at 402 E. Trudgeon.

NA Recovery Group

Henryetta Nazarene’s New Life Recovery Group will host NA meetings on Thursday nights at 7 p.m.

Meetings will be held in the Youth Building at the church located at 7th and Trudgeon.

The meetings are open to anyone struggling with addiction or family members of those struggling.

Freedom Warriors NA Meetings

Joy In Life Freedom Warriors will host NA meetings every Monday at 7 p.m. at 611 E. Trudgeon in Henryetta.

“You don’t have to battle alone,” Pastor James Page said. “Come connect on Monday nights and gain the strength to succeed.”

Those attending should enter the building through the glass door entrance.

Church of Christ Food Bank

Henryetta Church of Christ hosts their Food Bank on the second Thursday of every month from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The church is located at 413 W. Broadway.

FCC Food Pantry

First Christian Church of Henryetta will host a Food Pantry on the third Tuesday of each month starting at 10 a.m. “Nobody in Henryetta should go hungry.” FCC is located at 412 N. 5th Street.

Computer Giveaway by PC Memories, Inc.

PC Memories, Inc., a non-profit corporation, donates refurbished desktop and laptop computers to low income families with children as well as adults, seniors and veterans who live in Okmulgee County.
