Annual 3-day event filled with talented teams
The Jim Waller Event Center in Preston will be the site this weekend of the annual Preston Invitational Basketball Tournament.
The annual 3-day tournament will get underway Thursday at 10 a.m. with a girls bracket firstround game between the Kiefer Lady Trojans and Okay Lady Mustangs.
The other first-round games in the girls bracket on Thursday will see the Chandler Lady Lions take on the Sperry Lady Pirates at 1 p.m., the host Preston Lady Pirates battle the Rejoice Christian Lady Eagles at 4 p.m., and the Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs square off against the Warner Lady Eagles at 7 p.m.
The boys bracket first-round games Thursday will begin at 11:30 a.m. between Okay and Sperry, followed by Chandler and Okmulgee at 2:30 p.m., Kiefer and Rejoice Christian at 5:30 p.m., and Warner and the host Preston Pirates at 8:30 p.m.
Friday’s tournament action will feature girls consolation semifinal games at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, and boys consolation semifinal contests at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
The winner’s bracket semifinal games will feature girls games at 4 and 7 p.m., respectively, and boys games at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., respectively.
Saturday’s tournament schedule will begin with seventh place games at 10 and 11:30 a.m., respectively, followed by the consolation finals at 1 and 2:30 p.m. and third-place contests at 4 and 5:30 p.m., respectively.
The 3-day tournament will conclude with the championship games Saturday at 7 and 8:30 p.m., respectively.
