Lady Demons to compete in Colcord Festival

Beggs squad opens 3-day event against Westville

The Beggs Lady Demon varsity basketball team will face three tough opponents this weekend at the Colcord Festival.

The Lady Demons will begin the 3-day event Thursday with a 4 p.m. showdown with the Westville Lady Yellowjackets.

The Beggs ladies will return to the festival Friday for a 7 p.m. battle with the host Colcord Lady Hornets and will finish the 3-day event Saturday in a 2:30 p.m. contest against the Salina Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Demons began the 2022-2023 season last Thursday with a trip to Newcastle, falling by a 62-18 margin.

In the season opener, the Beggs ladies were led in scoring by Jasey Pruitt with seven points. Alyssa Antwine was next in the Lady Demon score column with six points, followed by Bleu Hall with three and Mylah Williams with two.

Prior to competing at the Colcord Festival, the Lady Demons were at home on Tuesday, battling their county rivals, the Morris Lady Eagles.
