Project set to begin over Thanksgiving break
Henryetta Board of Education hosted a special meeting early last Friday morning to review bids for the Troy Aikman Drive Road Paving Project.
The two lowest bids were discussed and tabled in order to acquire more detailed bid information during the regular board meeting held Oct. 10.
A bid for $208,380 from H&G Paving out of Muskogee was not revised prior to the special meeting. The bid included a quote for threeinches of overlay but did not include the cost of striping or speed bumps.
TRW Enterprises submitted a revised bid in the amount of $299,350 that included striping, additional fees for repairs, bonds and striping.
Board members approved the revised bid from TRW Enterprises, accepting it as the lowest and most responsible bid.
“TRW said the project should take around seven days,” Superintendent Dwayne Noble said. “They will plan on doing the work over Thanksgiving Break with minimal interruptions to traffic and will have flaggers as needed.”
Board members in attendance were James Williams, Misty Morris, Pam Bealko and David Bullard. David Molet was unable to attend.
