An Okmulgee man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Oct. 8 at 6:51 p.m. on I-44 westbound near Lewis Avenue in Tulsa.
An Okmulgee man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Oct. 8 at 6:51 p.m. on I-44 westbound near Lewis Avenue in Tulsa.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Trooper Josh Loftin, Mitchell Dewayne Agent, 29, of Okmulgee was driving a 1968 GMC truck west- bound on I-44 when, for an unknown reason, departed the road to the right, struck a retaining wall, continued westbound and struck a bridge abutment.
After being pinned for one hour and 19 minutes, he was extracted and pronounced dead at the scene by Tulsa Fire Department.
Both the condition of the driver and the cause of the collision remain under investigation.
Trooper Chad Duarte, Trooper Aaron Kerm, Lt. Paige Dowell, Trooper Eliasar Seijo, Trooper Ethan Mulkey, Tulsa Police Department and Tulsa Fire Department assisted with the accident.
