Henryetta enjoys success at recent cross country meets

After opening the 2022 campaign August 20 at Holdenville, the Henryetta runners have battled other athletes at Claremore Sequoyah (Aug. 27), Okemah (Sept. 3), and Prague (Sept. 10), respectively.

The Henryetta cross country program will be back in action this Saturday (Sept. 17) at the North Rock Creek Invitational, then will travel to Edmond Santa Fe School the following Saturday (Sept. 24) for the Edmond Santa Fe Invitational.

Last Saturday’s Prague Invitational took the place of the annual Henryetta meet that had to be canceled for an unknown reason.

At the Claremore Sequoyah meet, Camrynn Watkins was the lone Lady Knight runner in the girls high school division, competing in the 9th-10th Grade 1.14-mile race. Watkins crossed the finish line in a time of 8:19.

In the middle school girls 1.14-mile race, the duo of Avery Smith and Annika Kramer were the top finishers for Henryetta with identical finish times of 10:15. Tiffany Guess was two seconds behind the duo at 10:17, while Hayden Gaches rounded out the HMS Lady Knight runners at Claremore Sequoyah, crossing the finish line in a time of 12:35.

In the elementary girls 1.14-mile race, Greer Blake was the top finisher for Henryetta with a time of 9:53, followed by Darla Hendrick at 11:14 and Blaike Gillispie at 12:59. Dixie Hendrick finished one second behind Gillispie at the event to round out the HES girls competition at Claremore Sequoyah.

In the boys division at Claremore Sequoyah, Xander Lollis was the top runner for the Knights in the 11th-12th Grade 2-mile race with a time of 14:32. Ethan Goodner was next for HHS at 15:54, followed by Nick Crow at 16:10.

In the boys 9th-10th Grade 2-mile race at Claremore Sequoyah, Parker Stockholm was the top finisher for Henryetta with a time of 14:24. Michael Mayo was next individually for the Knights with a time of 14:42, followed by Noah Huckabay at 15:44.

The top middle boys runner for the Knights at Claremore Sequoyah was Cadyn Gillispie at 8:15, followed by Ty Goodner at 9:13 and Luke Harlan at 9:18, respectively.

In the elementary boys race, the top Knight finisher was Grayson Gillispie at 9:19. Ryker Bottoms was the only other HES runner to compete at Claremore Sequoyah, crossing the finish line in a time of 10:33.

The middle school and elementary boys races were 1.14 miles each.

At the Okemah Invitational on September 3, the top Lady Knight runner in the high school girls 1-mile run was Kenleigh Kaler. The sophomore finished fourth at the event with a time of 6:46.00.

Freshman Camrynn Watkins also recorded a Top 10 finish at Okemah, crossing the finish line in a time of 7:06.00 for eighth place overall.

In the middle school girls 1-mile run, Annika Kramer was the top Henryetta finisher in 30th with a time of 8:14.00. Avery Smith was two spots back of Kramer in 32nd with a time of 8:17.80, followed by Tiffany Guess in 41st with a time of 8:50.00.

Hadyn Gaches (9:37.00) and Molly Arthur (11:43.00) rounded out the Lady Knight finishers in the middle school girls race at Okemah in 52nd and 68th place, respectively.

In the high school boys 2-mile run at Okemah, senior Xander Lollis was the top Henryetta runner with a 13th-place finish, crossing the finish line in a time of 12:19.00.

Sophomore Parker Stockholm (13:36.00) and freshman Michael Mayo (13:43.00) were next individually for the Knights in the high school boys race with placements of 28th and 29th, respectively.

The final three finishers for Henryetta in the high school boys race were senior Ethan Goodner (14:18.00), freshman Noah Huckabay (14:45.00), and senior Nick Crow (18:18.00) in 38th, 43rd, and 48th, respectively.

In the middle school boys 1-mile race at Okemah, the top runner for HMS was Cadyn Gillispie in 30th overall with a time of 7:03.80, followed by the duo of Ty Goodner (7:43.80) and Luke Harlan (7:49.00) in 41st and 42nd, respectively.

The elementary 1-mile race was a mixed event, where boys and girls raced at the same time.

The top HES runner at Okemah was Aziah King, who finished runner-up with a time of 7:01.00. Grayson Gillispie was next individually for the Knights in 17th place with a time of 7:44.00.

Other Henryetta elementary finishers at Okemah were Greer Blake in 72nd (9:31.00), Ansley Crenshaw in 73rd (9:31.00), Darla Hendrick in 95th (10:36.00), Dixie Hendrick in 107th (11:28.00), and Blaike Gillispie in 110th (11:44.00).

In the team standings at Okemah, the Knights were fifth overall in the high school boys division with 101 team points, while the Lady Knights earned a seventh-place finish in the middle school girls division with 140 team points.

In the elementary mixed 1-mile race, the Henryetta runners finished seventh overall with a team total of 165 points.

At last Saturday’s Prague Invitational, the top runner in the high school girls 2-mile run was Kenleigh Kaler with a ninth-place finish and a time of 15:11.69. Teammate Camrynn Watkins finished 33rd overall with a time of 17:46.53.

In the middle school girls 1-mile race at Prague, the Lady Knights finished seventh overall with a team total of 179 points.

The top HMS runner in the girls division was Annika Kramer in 44th place with a time of 8:34.86. The duo of Tiffany Guess (9:17.16) and Olivia Owen (9:21.67) were next individually for the Lady Knights in the middle school girls race in 58th and 59th, respectively.

The final two finishers for HMS at Prague were Hadyn Gaches (10:03.81) and Molly Arthur (11:16.44) in 64th and 72nd, respectively.

In the high school boys 5k run last Saturday at Prague, the Knights finished sixth overall in the team standings with 135 points.

The top HHS runner in the boys division was Xander Lollis in 10th with a time of 19:18.64. Enoch Russell was next for the Knights in 29th place with a time of 20:43.41, followed by Michael Mayo in 52nd with a time of 22:58.21, Noah Huckabay in 68th with a time of 24:22.86, and Ethan Goodner in 70th with a time of 25:02.96.

Cadyn Gillispie was the top finisher for Henryetta in the middle school boys 1-mile run in 38th with a time of 7:17.27. Luke Harlan was next individually for the Knights at Prague in 49th with a time of 7:48.28, followed by Ty Goodner in 54th with a time of 8:00.67.
