Wilson’s 10-5 decision also first coaching win for Taiah Sanders

The Wilson Lady Tiger varsity fastpitch softball team snared their first win of the 2022 season last Thursday with a 10-5 victory over the Butner Lady Eagles.
The 5-run win came in the Lady Tigers’ second game of the 2-day Wilson Softball Festival at the Muscogee Nation softball fields in Okmulgee.
The victory was also the very first win in the coaching career of Wilson head coach Taiah Sanders.
Prior to the historic win for Coach Sanders, the Lady Tigers had suffered six-straight losses to begin the 2022 campaign.
The Wilson diamond squad began their 2-day festival action Thursday afternoon on the losing end of a 5-3 decision to the Indianola Lady Warriors.
The Lady Tigers’ win streak ended with a 17-2 loss to Keota in festival action on Friday, while the Wilson squad also came up on the short end of a 10-5 outcome to the Mason Lady Eagles in their festival finale on Friday.
The Lady Tigers were back in action Monday at Gore and were at home Tuesday against Paden.
