Henryetta Lions Bingo Fundraiser
Henryetta Lions Club will host another Bingo Fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 20 at The Briefcase at 313 W. Main Street.
Card sales begin at 4 p.m. and games start at 4:30 p.m. There will be a 60/40 split for winners.
All proceeds will go to support the Lions Club Eyeglass Fund.
Labor Day Pageants
Henryetta Laobr Day Committee will host the annual Pageants on Saturday, Aug. 20 in the Henryetta High School Auditorium.
The baby pageant begins at 10 a.m. The main pageant will be held at 7 p.m.
Southern Gospel
Tulledega Hills Theater will present Restored Southern Gospel in concert on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.
Admission is free, however, donations are greatly appreciated.
Restored Souther Gospel was named GMAA’s Gospel Trio of the Year.

Red, White & Q BBQ Competition
Rustler's BBQ will host the 3rd Annual American Exchange Bank (AEB) Red, White and Q BBQ Competition over Labor Day weekend at Nichols Park in Henryetta.
Check-in will be on Friday, Sept 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Competition turn-ins will be on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Entry fee is $150 per team (up to four people). Two full pork butts will be provided to each team for the People’s Choice competition.
Competitors should bring their own meat to the site raw. No pre-marinating, pre-cooking or prespicing is allowed prior to the official start time on Friday evening.
Entrants are allowed to cook with sauce but are asked not to add sauce, marinade, sop or juice to the meat or container once the meat is prepared for judging.
No garnishing or markers are allowed for judge portions.
No gas or electric fires, holes, open fires or dug pits are allowed. A burn-down barrel will be allowed but must have a safety barrier placed across the top and around the sides of the barrel. Precautions are urged to prevent fire threat.
All teams are required to have at least one fire extinguisher.
Meats will be judged on Saturday and winners for all categories will be announced at 3 p.m.
All contestants will be required to attend a cooks meeting at 11 a.m. on Saturday for an explanation of rules, additional instructions and confirmation of turn-in times.
Catergories will be Brisket, Pork Butt, St. Louis Ribs and People's Choice - Pork Butt.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in all categories as well as Grand Champion.
People's Choice taster kits will be available for $10.
Each team will be provided with a 20-foot by 20-foot space.
Volunteers and sponsorships are still needed for the competition.
In order to get more families involved, this year, a Kids BBQ Competition is being planned on Friday night for ages 14 and under.
Hamburger will be the meat of choice for the youth competition and will be supplied to entrants.
Entry to the Kids Competition will be $25. More information will be available as Labor Day nears.

Cooper & Whitworth
Tulledega Hills Theater will present Cooper & Whitworth for a Labor Day Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. at 3000 W. Main Street in Henryetta.
Though admission is free, a love offering will be taken.
There will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing open to those in attendance.
David Cooper and Marcus Whitworth, a newlyformed duo, will provide gospel as they sing and play string instruments.
Their musical genre is “Progressive Folk (with a ‘twist’).”

Feed the Vet
Henryetta Feed the Vet program distribution will be held Friday, Sept. 9 at New Life Assembly of God Church on New Lake Road.
Volunteers are needed to put together and distribute food boxes to participants.
If you would like to volunteer, you should arrive at the church at 10 a.m.
Food distribution begins at 11 a.m. Participants picking up food boxes are asked to remain in their vehicles. There will be no public restroom available.
Large food boxes will be provided for well over 100 veterans and their families in need of assistance.
'If you can provide any assistance in helping put together food baskets or with check-ins, please join in and help our veterans,' McKay said. 'All help will be greatly appreciated!'
Henryetta Feed the Vet food distribution is held every three months on the first Friday of the month.

Dewar Harvest Festival
Dewar Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vendors can sign up at Dewar Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Spaces for vendors are $20. If you signed up to be a vendor last year, you do not have to pay vendor fees this year.
There will be games, music, bounce houses and more.
Cruise Knight
Henryetta’s Fall Cruise Knight will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. between 3rd and 8th streets on Main Street.
Henryetta Mule & Donkey Days
A first annual Henryetta Mule & Donkey Days and Mule Jump & Trade Day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23.
The event will kick off with a parade down Main Street.
In the event there is inclement weather, the dates will be changed to Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

AHRMA Vintage Nationals
T&S Racing will host their annual AHRMA Vintage Nationals Friday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 6 at Nichols Park in Henryetta.

'Rez Recovery' AA meetings with Casey Thomas will be held every Saturday at 4 p.m. at Tulledega Hills Theater located at 3000 W. Main Street in Henryetta.
Worn Flags Sought
Henryetta Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 539 is currently collecting used and worn flags that will be properly disposed of during an upcoming flag retirement ceremony.
Flags can be dropped off at the Henryetta Free-Lance office located at 302 W. Main Street.
“Instead of throwing away your American flag,” Post 539 Vice Commander Hugh “Rooster” Jackson said, “bring them to the Free-Lance office so we can provide a suitable retirement.”

Community Breakfast
Tulledega Masonic Lodge No. 201 in Henryetta will host a Community Breakfast on the third Saturday of each month.
Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for $8 per person.

NA Recovery Group
Henryetta Nazarene’s New Life Recovery Group will host NA meetings on Thursday nights at 7 p.m.
Meetings will be held in the Youth Building at the church located at 7th and Trudgeon.
The meetings are open to anyone struggling with addiction or family members of those struggling.
Freedom Warriors NA Meetings
Joy In Life Freedom Warriors will host NA meetings every Monday at 7 p.m. at 611 E. Trudgeon in Henryetta.
“You don’t have to battle alone,” Pastor James Page said. “Come connect on Monday nights and gain the strength to succeed.”

County Election Board Meeting Dates
Okmulgee County Election Board recently announced regular scheduled meeting dates for 2022.
All meetings are held at the Okmulgee County Election Board Office at 314 W. 7th Street in Room 102 in Okmulgee.
Upcoming meeting dates and times include: July 1 at 4 p.m., Aug. 23 at 5 p.m., Aug. 26 at 4 p.m., Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 4 p.m.

First Christian Church of Henryetta will host a Food Pantry on the third Tuesday of each month starting at 10 a.m. “Nobody in Henryetta should go hungry.” FCC is located at 412 N. 5th Street.
Computer Giveaway by PC Memories, Inc.
PC Memories, Inc., a non-profit corporation, donates refurbished desktop and laptop computers to low income families with children as well as adults, seniors and veterans who live in Okmulgee County.
