Featured book of the week is “Tumble Bumble,” by author Felicia Bond.
Author Biography:
Felicia Bond, American author and illustrator of children’s books, was born July 18, 1954 in Yokohama, Japan to American parents and lived there for two years.
Bond grew up in Bronxville, N.Y. and Houston, Texas.
She was the second of seven children, having four brothers and two sisters.
As early as the age of five, she knew she wanted to create art and was so very impressed with Charles Schulz and his Peanuts comic strip.
Bond earned a B.F.A. in Painting from the University of Texas in Austin and continued her studies in New York City at the School of Visual Arts.
She wrote and illustrated her first book, “Poinsettia and Her Family,” by age 26 with four more books following shortly.
She began illustrating all of Laura Numeroff ’s “If You Give” series of 17 books in 1985.
Bond now lives in Santa Fe, N.M. with her six cats. Her hobbies include reading, dancing and cooking.
