Historic Wiley Ryal Park in Dewar will be the site of the 37th Annual Joe Fowler Gumbo Classic baseball tournament.
The annual 3-day event will get underway this Thursday at 10 a.m. with a first-round meeting between the Wetumka Chieftains and Allen Mustangs.
Besides the host Dewar Dragons, the other teams that will be taking part in the annual baseball tournament will be the Eufaula Ironheads, Asher Indians, Regent Prep Rams, Weleetka Outlaws, Checotah Wildcats, and the Dragons’ Okmulgee County mates - the Morris Eagles and Henryetta Golden Knights.
Thursday’s action will continue with games at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m., respectively.
The first four tournament contests on Friday will feature loser’s bracket games at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m., respectively, while the final two games on Friday will be winner’s bracket semifinal contests at 6 p.m., and 8 p.m., respectively.
Saturday’s final day of tournament action will feature the consolation finals at 12 p.m., the thirdplace game at 2 p.m., and the championship game at 4 p.m.
