The annual track and field meets at Henryetta and Okmulgee high schools will take place this Friday.

The John ‘JP’ Phillipe Invitational in Henryetta will take place at the track and field facilities, located on the campus of Henryetta High School, east of the Henryetta Event Center, while the Okmulgee Bulldog Classic Invitational in Okmulgee will be held at historic Harmon Field in Okmulgee, located at 601 E. 12th Street.
Both meets should feature sizeable turnouts and feature some of the best track and field teams from across the state.
The John ‘JP’ Invitational in Henryetta will get started with a coaches meeting at 9 a.m. with field events getting underway at 9:30 a.m. and running events beginning at 10 a.m.
At the Bulldog Classic Invitational in Okmulgee, there will be a coaches meeting at 9:30 a.m. with the field events getting started at 10 a.m. and the running events beginning at 11 a.m.
Schools that wanted to be a part of the track and field meets in either Okmulgee or Henryetta had until 5 p.m. on Thursday to submit their entry request on the ENDURO USA™ website: www.endurousa.com. No entries were accepted after the deadline.
There will be two divisions at the Henryetta meet: 3A and Below Boys and 3A and Below Girls and four divisions at the Okmulgee meet: 4A-5A Boys, 4A-5A Girls, 3A and Below Boys, and 3A and Below Girls.
Team points will be awarded to the Top 6 teams in each division at both meets, using the following format:
Individual Events
• 1st Place: 10 points
• 2nd Place: 8 points
• 3rd Place: 6 points
• 4th Place: 4 points
• 5th Place: 2 points
• 6th Place: 1 point
Relay Events
• 1st Place: 20 points
• 2nd Place: 16 points
• 3rd Place: 12 points
• 4th Place: 8 points
• 5th Place: 4 points
• 6th Place: 2 points
Trophies will be awarded to the team champion and team runner-up in each division at both meets.
