In 2022, Okmulgee fans are encouraged to cheer on OPS student-athletes that will compete this Spring in baseball, slowpitch softball, and track and field.
The Okmulgee Bulldog varsity baseball team, who will introduce new head coach Ed Vaughn this season, is scheduled to kick off the Spring Sports season this Tuesday at home against Okmulgee County rival, the Beggs Golden Demons. The Bulldogs and Demons are scheduled to battle in two 7-inning contest during Tuesday’s season opener with the first game of the doubleheader getting underway at 5 p.m. at Morgan Field at Bateman Park.
The Lady Bulldog varsity slowpitch softball team, under head coach Shane Bevan, will begin their 2022 campaign next Thursday on the road at Mounds, battling former Morris coach Jonathan Clay and the host Mounds Lady Eagles in a 7-inning contest.
The Okmulgee varsity track and field program, coached by Dwight Pankey, will kick off its 2022 season March 11 at Glenpool.
The junior high Spring Sports programs will get started on the following dates:

• Slowpitch Softball - March 3 at Mounds
• Track and Field - March 8 at Tahlequah
