Henryetta cagers swept at home against Kiefer

The host Knights and Lady Knights were unable to contain the visitors, suffering defeats to their Creek County foes.

The Henryetta ladies were unable to get their offense going in the opening contest, falling to the Class 3A No. 7 Lady Trojans by a 55-18 margin.

Kasedi Gobin was the top scorer for Henryetta in the home contest with six points. Brooklyn Baughman and Katelyn Dwiggins were next for the Lady Knights with four points each, followed by Bailey and Aliyah Harjochee two apiece.

In Saturday’s boys game, the Knights came out of the first eight minutes of action with a narrow 10-7 advantage. The Henryetta offense sputtered in the second stanza, as the only points scored came on a 3-point basket by Hunter Gobin. The visitors tallied 11 points in the second period to take an 18-13 lead into the halftime break.

Kiefer extended its lead to 11 (36-25) after an 18- 12 margin in the third quarter.

The Knights attempted to overcome the double-digit deficit in the final frame, but were only able to manage a 15-12 advantage in the final quarter to end up on the short end of a 48-40 outcome.

The top scorers for the Henryetta squad in the setback were Nick Hudson with 14 and Alex Hudson with 12. Gobin was next offensively for the Knights with six, followed by Ethan Palmer and Jordan Osterdock with four each.
