Do individuals have a heyday? Maybe our current day is our heyday, huh?
Just wondering.
So, I decided to look up just what is one’s heyday? I found it is that period of a person’s or things greatest success, popularity or vigor.
I've come to this conclusion: It is totally up to each individual. That again, put me to wondering about my heyday. Still thinking on that, however.
Now these two dear old souls, my sweet neighbors, played in the local high school band, lo, many moons ago.
I got excited just hearing them reminisce.
One that recently celebrated her 90th birthday was the Majorette. I can just see her - Head thrown back and stepping high and the beat, leading the band!
They tell me there were at least 100 band members.
When not being a Majorette, she played the marimba in the high school orchestra.
Then, the other dear one is in her late eighties. She was a member in that same band at the same time. She marched and played the flute and piccolo.
Isn’t this one of the sweetest things to know? They are still members of a current band here at the retirement village.
They bless and cheer us on as we march through old age. They help us stay in step and keep our eye on our destination. And, pleasing as we march through our days.
I personally know my life is beingenriched by knowing these two former high school band members.
I guess many of us thought we were the cat’s meow, in our heyday high school days, huh? Honey Chile, those were the days!
That’s where many of us met the ‘love of our life’ and married him!
I loved all my classes and still remember all my teachers. Bless them! They poured themselves into us.
Now, study hall time was my favorite.
My boyfriend and I always managed to sit together; Wrote notes to each other. No talking. Suppose to be studying.
I was studying, getting my Mrs. Degree. HEHE
He did help me with my algebra, since he was a whiz at math. He even majored in math in college and got all A’s!!
Back then we had scholastic competitions in high school. He placed first in geometry in the entire county. I still have his medal.
That’s enough of going down memory lane. Don’t go anywhere much anymore, except down memory lane. Glad you went along with me.
