The Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners approved an E911 Communications agreement with OSUIT at their Monday meeting.
According to 911 Director Tim Craighton, the agreement will allow Okmulgee County to dispatch the college’s 911 calls.
“They will still handle their on-campus, non-emergency stuff,” Craighton said. The agreement will be effective Feb. 1 and is good for one year.
Craighton also informed the board there were five house fires last week.
“Several of them were due to heating issues during the cold weather,” he said. He urged caution as to heating sources inside and next to homes.
The board also approved a Platt Filing for Yang Farm in District 3.
This will be a housing subdivision located near Henryetta.
The commissioners informed the owners that when the property is ready to install culverts or driveway entrances, they would need to inform the county commissioners about the work.
