The Lady Bulldogs remained winless on the season with a 68-21 loss in the opening contest Monday, while the Bulldogs fell to 3-5 on the year with a 72-60 defeat in the nightcap.
The Okmulgee cagers will return to action next Tuesday at home against the Wewoka Tigers and Lady Tigers.

In Monday’s girls battle at Hilldale, the Lady Bulldogs were held to just three points - a 3-point basket by Dalazia Hammon with 1:05 remaining - in the opening period, while the host Lady Hornets put up 22 points in the frame to put the visitors in a huge 22-3 deficit after the first eight minutes of action.
The Okmulgee offense picked up a little bit in the second stanza, tallying eight points in the quarter. Hilldale, however, countered with 17 points in the period to send the contest to the halftime break with the Lady Bulldogs trailing 39-11.

The Lady Bulldogs were led offensively by Mariya Tecumseh with seven points. Hammon and Cyann Powell were next for the Okmulgee ladies with five points each, while Tori James rounded out the OHS scoring with four points.
In Monday’s boys showdown, the Bulldogs grabbed an early 10-4 advantage in the opening period, only to see the host Hornets close out the quarter with a 15-0 run to lead 19-10 after the first eight minutes.
A back-and-forth second stanza resulted in both teams tallying 15 points in the frame to keep the deficit at nine, 34-25, at the intermission.
The visitors came out of the third period with a narrow 18-17 margin to cut the Hilldale lead to eight, 51-43, with eight minutes remaining in regulation.
The Bulldogs attempted a fourth-quarter comeback, but were unable to overcome the deficit in the final stanza, as Hilldale took the fourth period by a 21-17 margin to hand the Okmulgee gentlemen the 72-60 defeat.
Topley Powell had the hot hand offensively for the Bulldogs in the road loss, finishing with a team-best 30 points, including 15 of Okmulgee’s 17 points in the fourth quarter.
Darin Miles also reached double figures against Hilldale with 11.
Other Bulldog scorers in the road game were Keith Talton with seven and Makhi Phillips and Tre Swan six each.
