Funeral services for M. V. “Skip” Matthews, 93, resident of Pharoah, will be Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Robert Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.

Mr. Matthews was born July 7, 1928 in Sharp to Clyde C. Matthews and Flora (Little) Matthews. He died Friday, Oct. 22 in Tulsa.
He married the love of his life, Thomasene “Tommie” Pharoah on April 24, 1948 in Sapulpa and remained happily committed for 66 years until her death in 2015.
Survivors include his son, Jim Matthews and wife Sue of Henryetta; daughter, Neketa Landrum and husband Lanny of Jay; five grandchildren, Amy Norman and husband James of Jay,
Jay Matthews and wife Tara of Henryetta, Tawny Wardrope and husband Bobby of Coalgate, Audra Tate and husband Thomas of Jay and Nacole Gray and husband Dan of Colgate; 11 great grandchildren, Brittany Sabastian and husband Eric of Jay, Jaylyn Matthews of Henryetta, Bradley Sims and wife Danica of Henryetta, Taci Hamilton, Shelby Davidson of Joplin, Mo., Gavin Tate of Jay, Braelynn Wardrope, Braxton Wardrope, Karlee Wardrope and Holly Estep all of Coalgate; and one great-great grandchild, Rynley Sims.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tommie Matthews; brother, Clyde Matthews, Jr.; two sisters, Inola Mooneyham and Wilma Lambeth; and infant sister, Betty Jo Matthews.
