With nearly 60 in attendance, the Nichols Park Earth Day Clean Up was a success. Prizes first through third place were awarded to teams who gathered the most trash. First place prize of $250 went to Cub Scouts Pack 118 who gathered 15 bags of trash. Cub Scout Bryce Hawkins (above) was the first in Pack 118 to turn in a full bag of trash. The second place $200 prize was awarded to Henryetta Middle School Football. Third place was tied between the Henryetta Track Team and Emily Rose, who each received $75. “We had fun!” event organizer Steve Sanford said. “The park looks very good and there is talk of getting together again. I’m very pround of my community. Thank you all for your support!” Those attending enjoyed hot dogs and drinks at the Beach House. Keep Oklahoma Beautiful donated gloves, trash bags and safety vests for the cleanup. See more photos on page A8. PHOTO BY TRACY GOZA
