OILTON - The Beggs Lady Demons earned three wins here last Thursday with two of the victories coming by the run rule.

OILTON - The Beggs Lady Demons earned three wins here last Thursday with two of the victories coming by the run rule.

The three Beggs wins last Thursday came against Hominy (17-12), Luther (32-1), and Oilton (22-11), respectively.

The Lady Demons were originally scheduled to compete at the Depew Tournament last Thursday, but the tournament was cancelled due to unplayable field conditions in Depew. With the tournament being cancelled, the Beggs squad traveled Oilton to face three teams that were also scheduled to compete at the Depew Tournament.

The Beggs diamond squad was scheduled to travel to Mounds for a showdown with the Class 3A No. 5 Mounds Lady Eagles in their regular-season finale before beginning post-season play Thursday at home against Okmulgee and Kiefer in the Class 4A district tournament.

In last Thursday's meeting with Hominy, both teams tallied four runs in their half of the first, then Hominy plated seven runs in the bottom of the seventh for an 11-4 advantage.

The Lady Demons took the third inning by a 3-1 margin to make it a 12-7 contest, then pushed across seven in the fourth and three in the fifth to walk away with the 17-12 decision.

The Beggs squad totaled 21 hits in the contest, including eight home runs. The top hitter for the Lady Demons against Hominy was Freedom Hicks, who went 4 for 4 with two singles, a double, a home run, and 2 RBIs. Hicks' roundtripper came on a solo blast in the third. Kaylee Hutt

Kaylee Hutton was next offensively for Beggs, going 3 for 3 with three singles and 3 RBIs.

Other Beggs batters with multi-hit games against Hominy were Brooklyn Angielski (2 for 4, 2 singles), Hannah Padgett (2 for 4, single, home run, RBI), Haily Barnes (2 for 4, 2 home runs, 5 RBI), Shelby Caldwell (2 for 3, single, home run, RBI), Brylee Williams (2 for 3, single, home run, RBI), and Joely Speer (2 for 2, 2 home runs, 4 RBI) with two hits apiece. Barnes' two home runs came on a 3-run shot in the first and a 2-run shot in the third, while Speer's two roundtrippers came on a 3-run blast in the fourth and a solo shot in the fifth. The home runs by Padgett, Caldwell, and Williams came on solo shots in the first, fourth, and fifth innings, respectively.

The final two hits for Beggs against Hominy came on singles by Haileigh Mills and Morgan Busby.

Baserunners in the contest were Angielski (fielder's choice), Hutton (walk), and Barnes (2 fielder's choices).

In last Thursday's rout of Luther, the Lady Demons led 10-1 after one inning of play, then plated five in the second for a 15-1 advantage. The Beggs squad erupted for 17 runs in the top of the third to complete the 32-1 victory.

The Lady Demons finished with 25 hits in the rout, including 11 home runs. The trio of Kaylee Hutton (4 for 4, 2 singles, 2 home runs, 5 RBI), Kaci Phelps (4 for 4, 3 singles, home run, RBI), and Haileigh Mills (4 for 4, 2 singles, 2 home runs, 5 RBI) led the way offensively with four hits each. Hutton's two home runs came on 2-run shots in the first and third innings, while Mills' two roundtrippers came in the third, connecting on solo and 3-run blasts in the frame. Other Lady Demon batters with multi-hit games against Luther were Hannah Padgett (2 for 3, single, home run, 4 RBI), Freedom Hicks (2 for 4, 2 singles, 2 RBI), and Morgan Busby (2 for 4, 2 home runs, 6 RBI) with two hits each. Busby's home runs came on 3-run shots in the first and second innings, while Padgett's roundtripper came on a 2-run blast in the third.

The final base hits for Beggs against Luther came on a 2-run home run in the first by Joely Speer.

Additional baserunners for the Lady Demons in the dominating win were Angielski (walk), Padgett (walk, error), Hicks (error), Barnes (fielder's choice), Busby (error), Speer (walk), Shelby Caldwell (error), and Brylee Williams (2 errors).

In last Thursday's win over Oilton, the host Lady Panthers took the opening frame by a 3-2 margin, then outscored the Lady Demons 4-1 in the second and 2- 1 in the third for a 9-4 advantage after three innings of action.

The Beggs ladies knotted the score at 9-9 with five runs in the top of the fourth, then went in front for good, 22-9, with 13 runs in the top of the fifth.

Oilton tallied just two runs in the bottom of the fifth to award the visiting Lady Demons the 22-11 victory.

Twelve of Beggs' 20 hits against Oilton last Thursday came by way of the long ball. Kaylee Hutton was the top hitter for Beggs in the win, going 4 for 4 with all four hits coming on home runs. Hutton's roundtrippers came on solo shots in the first, fourth, and fifth innings and a 2-run blast in the fifth.

Hannah Padgett (3 for 4, single, 2 home runs, 4 RBI) and Freedom Hicks (3 for 4, single, 2 home runs, 3 RBI) were next offensively for the Lady Demons against Oilton with three hits each. Padgett's two home runs came on a solo shot in the third and a 2-run shot in the fifth, while Hicks' roundtrippers came on a solo blast in the first and a 2-run blast in the fifth.

Other Beggs batters with multi-hit games against Oilton were Brooklyn Angielski (2 for 4, 2 singles), Shelby Caldwell (2 for 2, 2 singles), and Morgan Busby (2 for 3, single, home run, 4 RBI) with two hits apiece. Busby's home run came on a Grand Slam in the fourth.

The other four hits for the Lady Demons against Oilton came on a single by Haileigh Mills, solo home runs by Haily Barnes and Kaci Phelps, and a 3-run home run by Brylee Williams. Barnes' roundtripper came in the fifth, while Phelps led off the second with her solo home run. Williams' home run came in the fifth.

Other baserunners for Beggs in the win were Barnes (walk), Mills (error), Busby (error), and Joely Speer (walk).
