The county’s unemployment rate fell to 7.0 percent in December, compared to 7.9 percent in November. The county’s labor force is 15,473 with 1,084 currently unemployed.
Statewide, Latimer County posted the highest county unemployment rate of 10.1 percent. McIntosh County had the second highest rate for the month, followed by Haskell County.
Beaver County posted the lowest county unemployment rate of 2.0 percent in December.
Unemployment rates were higher in December in 76 of Oklahoma's 77 counties and lower in one county.
