After a long road in regionals, the Lady Knights secured their spot in the state tournament with two back-to-back wins over Adair.
The Lady Knights’ regional tournament had its ups and downs, but they came out with a 4-1 record.
In the first game, Henryetta fell to Haskell 5-4 on the final play of the game in the extra eighth inning.
The game was tied at fours when Haskell hit a solo homer.
After the Lady Knights scored one run in the top of the seventh, Haskell answered with one of their own.
Haskell’s pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over eight innings, striking out one and walking one.
Avery Miller was in the circle for Henryetta. She pitched seven, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out three and walking one.
Haskell smashed two home runs in the game. Mckayla Greenhaw led Henryetta with two hits in four at bats.
In the field, they didn’t commit a single error. Kasedi Gobin made the most plays with five.
The second game against Valliant was close as well. Henryetta snatched the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory.
The game was tied at two with Henryetta batting in the top of the fifth when Miller singled, scoring the winning run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Miller struck out two, while Valliant sat down four.
In the second inning, Henryetta got their offense started when Mckayla Greenhaw singled, scoring the first run.
In the bottom of the third inning, Valliant tied things up at two.
Miller led the Lady Knights to victory. She pitched all seven innings again, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out two and walking zero.
Jalynn Joslin led Henryetta with two hits in four at bats.
The Lady Knights came back with a vengeance in their rematch against Haskell Friday, shutting out the Lady Haymakers 5-0.
Miller as pitcher didn’t allow a single run and only allowed five hits. She struck out ten and walked zero.
Skylar Morris socked a homerun in the fourth inning.

After fighting their way through the consolation bracket, the Lady Knights then had to defeat Adair, who was undefeated so far, twice to qualify for state.
Henryetta ran off with the lead late in the game in the 6-5 victory.
The game was tied at two with The Lady Knights batting in the bottom of the fifth when Shelby Kilhoffer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Despite falling down by four runs in the sixth inning, Adair tried to fight back. Adair scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double and a home run, but they couldn’t match Henryetta at bat. The Lady Knights got on the board in the first inning when Kasedi Gobin homered, scoring two runs.
In the top of the fourth inning, Adair tied things up at two when an error scored two runs.
Miller once again led the Lady Knights to victory on the mound. She surrendered five runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out six.
Henryetta tallied ten hits in the game. Gobin, Jalynn Joslin, and Miller all collected multiple hits.
Then it all came down to the last game when Henryetta left Adair in the dust in a 13-7 regional championship win.
Henryetta notched five runs in the fourth inning. Greenhaw, Lexi Lollis, and Katelyn Dwiggins each had RBIs.
Miller pitched in the final game for the Lady Knights. She surrendered six runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out one.
Miller hit another home run in the fourth inning. Henryetta tallied 15 hits on the day. Morris and Kilhoffer each managed three hits to lead the Lady Knights.
Dwiggins led with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
The Lady Knights will play Sulphur in the first round of the state tournament at FireLake Ball Fields in Shawnee Thursday at 11 a.m.
According to OSSAA, spectators will have to wear masks at the games.
