County tables lease purchase bids

A bid for a lease purchase of a 2020 motor grader was tabled after discussion Monday morning by the Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners.

A bid for a lease purchase of a 2020 motor grader was tabled after discussion Monday morning by the Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners.

Three bids were opened during the meeting, with the lease purchase ranging from $2,49 to $2,853 per month for the grader.

Currently, the monthly lease is just over $1,800 per month. The board decided to take time to look over the bids closely before making their decision.

Before the meeting began, Commissioner Robert Hardridge took a moment to congratulate Pandee Ramirez, who was appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt Thursday as district judge for District 24.

“I would like to congratulate newly-appointed district judge, Pandee Ramirez,” Commissioner Robert Hardridge said. “Your peers made a prudent decision and it’s one we supported all the way. Congratulations to you and your family.”

“I thank you all, you have been supportive of me all the way through, so thank you very much. I look forward to working with you in the future,” Judge Ramirez said.

The following agenda items were approved by the board:

• Blanket Purchase Orders: ComData Network, from Okmulgee CountyEmergency Management for fuel as needed, $500; O’Reilly Auto Parts, District 3, $250 for parts as needed; Unifirst Holdings, District 1, $800 for uniforms as needed; Unifirst Holidings, District 3, $700 for uniforms as needed.

• Employee Acknowledgement: County Clerk’s Office, Valerie Hale, full-time; Sheriff’s Office, Patrick Cantrell, full-time.

• Utility Permits: District 2, Rural Water District 7, near Nuyaka and Lincoln Roads.

• Lease Purchase Agreements: The bid for four vehicles, two for the Beggs City Fire Department and two for the Beggs Rural Fire Department, was awarded in March to Mark Allen Chevrolet. The trucks were just received and lease purchase agreements were approved pending district attorney’s approval.

• Plans for the Turkey Pen Hollow Road Project in District 3.

• Requisitioning/Receiving Officers: Morris Fire Department, Joe Berryhill and Todd Trantham, Requisitioning; Matt Kirk and Tim Stewart, Receiving.

• Annual Contracts for Health Department

• Detention Transportation Claim for OJA: Month of August, $263.73 to the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office, for transportation of juveniles.

• Invitation to Bid #8 to purchase 1996 or newer, rubbered tire roller.

Under new business, the board approved the Okmulgee County Emergency Management’s Notice of Intent to apply for a grant to build the county’s mitigation plan.

During Monday’s session, OCEM Director Tim Craighton stopped by to visit. Craighton has been out on leave due to serious health issues.

Craighton thanked the commissioners and Dave Kennedy for the work and assistance while he has been out.

“He’s done a great job,” Craighton said.
