A lease purchase agreement for a truck for the Dewar Fire Department was approved during the Monday Okmulgee County Commissioners meeting.
The original agreement, approved June 30, was with Urban Commercial Vehicles. The company built the firetruck from the ground up, however when the agreement reached them, they refused to sign it.
County Clerk Becky Thomas worked overtime with the bank handling the loan and the State Auditor’s Office, so Dewar will finally be getting their fire truck.
The board also approved the following agenda items:
• Officers Reports - Treasurer’s Office for the month of March in the amount of $145,586.97, April for $159,572.21, May for $172,921.57 and June in the amount of $196,738.19; County Clerk’s Office for July, $26,723.30; Court Clerk’s Office, $11,074.19; and the County Health Department for $43,562.52.
• Blanket Purchase Orders - Cookson Hills for Legal Publications, $1,500; and Okmulgee District 2 for the Assessor’s Office for fuel as needed in the amount of $200.
• Resolution to add equipment to inventory for District 1. A 1991 GMC one-ton truck with no bed was previously removed from inventory because there was an interested buyer. The buyer has since fallen through and District 1 is now adding the truck back to their inventory so they can try to sell it again.
While Okmulgee County Emergency Director Tim Craighton is still out of office, the commissioners did report he is home from the hospital and resting.
