One of Okmulgee County’s popular family-owned businesses, TNK BBQ, announced their quality food truck is now open in Henryetta.
Owners Kevin and Taby Evans have ran the mobile food truck for three years now and competed in several competitions.
Among the many awards received include 6th place in the rib category during the 2017 Oklahoma BBQ Society Cleaver Team of the Year Competition; 1st place ribs and Reserve Grand Champion in the 2017 Bixby Rotary Club competition; 2nd place two times during Morris Twister Days; 2nd place at the 16th annual Bordertown Bash; 3rd place for Crowd Pleasing BBQ, 5th place for an IBS Pork Ribs competition as well as many other trophies and ribbons.
“Our BBQ isn’t your traditional BBQ,” Taby said, “It’s competition-style.”
A lifelong Henryetta resident, Taby is a graduate of Dewar High School. Her family resides in the Tiger Mountain area.
“I’m excited to bring my business back to my hometown,” she said.
During TNK’s first day of business on Monday in Henryetta, visitors enjoyed a full menu of sandwich and specialty combos featuring brisket, pork, bologna or hot links, mac and cheese, loaded potato salad and more.
TNK plans to be open each Monday on the corner of 5th and Trudgeon in Henryetta from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a variety of specials to be provided. Their location will be in the old Save-A-Lot parking lot.
During other days of the week, the food truck is normally set up at 20th and Oklahoma in Okmulgee.
