Judy’s mom was a homemaker and her father was a dentist.
She had a brother five years older than her.
Judy loved to read and spent her childhood making up stories in her head.
Inn 1961, she graduated from New York University with a degree in Education.
While in college she met her husband, John Blume. They married in 1959 and had two children.
Judy began writing while her kids were preschoolers and published her first book, “The One in the Middle is the Green Kangaroo” in 1969.
In 1975, Judy and John divorced and she married twice after that.
