City of Henryetta Water Superintendent Jason Gold announced the release of the 2018 Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) earlier this week. Samples tested were collected Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2018.
According to the report, Henryetta residents water is from surface water of the North Canadian River and Jim Hall Lake.
There were no microbiological contaminants detected for the calendar year 2018.
A small amount of regulated contaminant, Nitrate/Nitrite, was detected with the source being runoff from fertilizer use, leaching from septic tanks and sewage and erosion of natural deposits. Values were: Highest Value at 0.212, Range of 0.212, Unit of ppb (parts per billion). The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) or maximum allowed is the highest level of a contaiminant that is allowed in drinking water, which is 10.
Other contaminants detected included:
• Disinfection Byproducts – Total Haloacetic Acids (HAA5), a by-product of drinking water disinfection. Highest Running Annual Average (RAA) was 39. Range was 17.1 to 52.6. MCL was 60. TTHM highest RAA was 63 with a range of 38.4 to 91.6. MCL for TTHM is 80. TTHM is a by-product of drinking water chlorination. Both by-products were measured in ppb.
• Lead & Copper – Copper, free was reported at 0.035 (90th percentile) at a range of 0.0017 to 0.05369. Lead was reported at 1.5 (90th percentile) with a range of 0.8 to 36.98. Copper contaminants are from the corrosion of household plumbing systems, erosion of natural deposits and leaching from wood preservatives. Source of lead comes from the corrosion of household plumbing systems and the erosion of natural deposits.
