Okmulgee County commissioners covered a short agenda for the first meeting of the new year.
Items approved included:
• Officer Reports for the month of December - County Clerk's office in the amount of $24,312.55 and Okmulgee County Health Department in the amount of $4,946.29;
• Blanket Purchase Orders - Morris News Legal Publications for $1,000 and S&H Auto for parts and supplies as needed for $1,000;
• Transfer of Appropriations - $25,000 was transferred out of District 2 Highway Maintenance and Operations and was moved into Capital Outlay for equipment;
• Revised Detention Transportation Claim - This claim was originally approved on Dec. 16, 2019 in the amount of $504.99 it has since been revised and is now for the month of November in the amount of $502.18.
Emergency Management Director Tim Craighton warned Okmulgee County residents to be aware of the high winds this week and to avoid anything which could start a fire.
One claim for Midway Public Schools was approved in the amount of $3,155.10.
According to County Clerk Becky Thomas, our schools and joint schools pay a portion of the assessor's budget.
Midway Schools sent the commissioners their payout by mistake instead of sending it to Muskogee County.
The commissioners are now reimbursing the money back to Midway Schools so they can send the money where it needs to go.
