The Henryetta Lady Knights have had a rocky start to the 2019 season with a 0-5 season record. Slow offensive moments and the lack of rebounds has contributed to the Lady Knights’ struggles, which could be seen in their first contest with Holdenville. The Lady Wolverines pulled ahead for an 18-13 lead in the first half. Though the Lady Knights kept close, a big third quarter from the Lady Wolverines sealed Henryetta’s fate.

Their losing streak continued with a home game against Kellyville. The No. 8 Lady Ponies delivered a 63-35 loss to the Lady Knights, who were now 0-2. With their offense beginning to slow down, the Lady Knights saw the margin increase between them and their opponents.

Unable to pull out of their slump, the Lady Knights saw their record hit 0-3 when they went up against the Preston Pirates, 54-40. The Lady Pirates have climbed their way to the No. 17 spot in Class 2A with a 4-8 record. Fighting hard to overcome the Lady Pirates’ lead, the Lady Knights failed to get their offense off the ground. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Pirates had established an 18-point lead which solidified into a 54-40 victory.

The Lady Knights were unable to get a break, traveling to face the Kellyville Ponies once again on Dec. 13. After facing a 15-point deficit loss, the Lady Knights struggled to redeem their earlier loss. The Lady Ponies, who were undefeated at the time, obtained another 56-28 victory over the Lady Knights.

Hosting their last game of the semester, the Lady Knights went up against the Oktaha Lady Tigers on Dec. 17. They were unable to end their losing streak with a 45-35 loss to the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Knights return from Christmas Break to host the Okemah Lady Panthers on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
