The Henryetta Knights Wrestling Club had a strong showing at the annual Challenge of the Talons hosted by the Morris Wrestling Club.
Wrestlers competed over the past weekend at the Mvskoke Dome in Okmulgee for the chance to earn a gold medal and specialty singlets signed by the OSU Cowboys wrestling team.
The Knights Novice Div. V squad took 1st place overall as a team with four wrestlers placing 2nd and three claiming 1st place. Destiny Cabrera was the only Knights wrestler in the Novice Div. IV to take 1st place, while Tucker Watson, 106 lbs., placed 1st along with Christian Gray, 119 lbs., in Div. V.
In the open division, Jordyn Miller was the only one to claim 1st in Div. IV 160lbs, while Cash Faulkner placed 2nd in Div. V 119 lbs. Three other wrestlers claimed 3rd place in the Open category, including: Luke Olsen Div. I, 37lbs.; Riley Okerson Div. IV, 160 lbs.; and Tucker Watson Div. V, 106 lbs.
Issac McNac placed 4th in Div. V in the 285 lbs. weight group.
The girl wrestlers that took home awards include: Destiny Cabrera Div. IV, 1st; Callie England Div. III, 2nd; and Vicki Faulkner, 3rd. The Knights Wrestling Club will be competing at the U.S. Junior Open Championship this weekend in Oklahoma City.
