Henryetta Board of Education aproved adopting a resolution to affirm a lease/purchase agreement for the acquisition of new route buses, an activity bus, a handicap bus and either vans or suburbans during their Nov. 11 regular meeting.
Upon approval, Supt. Dwayne Noble said that buses will be able to be ordered immediately with the possibility of the route buses to be delivered shortly after the upcoming holidays.
Henryetta Public School District voters went to the polls on Sept. 12 and by a margin of 70.27-percent, overwhelmingly approved a $980,000 Transportation Bond Election to upgrade and replace a much-aged fleet while reducing growing maintenance costs.
All board members approved entegrity Energy as the Energy Saving Performance Contractor for the 2019-2020 school year.
During a special board meeting held in September, entegrity gave a presentation on upgrading and replacing current lighting throughout main buildings on campus with more cost-effective LED lighting.
Supt. Noble said the lighting project is estimated to be completed within two months. entegrity Energy crews plan to work after campus hours, between 4 p.m. and midnight, in order not to disrupt any classes or events on campus. In addition to lighting, entegrity will check plumbing as well as thermostats campus-wide.
Other agenda items approved by board members included minutes of the June 10 and Oct. 14 regular board meetings and Sept. 17, Oct. 22 and Nov. 4 special board meetings.
A request for state aid and/or federal fund for schools General Fund Supplement 307 forms for 2019-2020 were approved. Supt. Noble explained insurance money for the replacement and repair of the new gym will be placed into the General Fund.
Encumbrances and financial reports for 2019-2020 were reviewed and accepted.
A Transfer of Fund in the amount of $17,500 from the Athletic Sub Account to football ($10,000), softball ($4,000), cheer ($2,000) and cross country ($1,500) was approved.
Among the fundraisers approved by board members were FCCLA and the Junior class for prom.
Regular school board meeeting dates, times and location for 2020 were reviewed and approved as follows: Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8, July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec.
14.
During board member comments, Misty Sweeney announced that the Henryetta Quarterback Club will host a first annual banquet.
No new business was presented and the meeting adjourned.
