Sunday, November 3rd Daylight Saving Time ends. When you go to bed this Saturday night, move your clocks back one hour.
November 8th, 1934 is the birth date of Lois Ehlert author and illustrator of children’s books. Born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin Lois was encouraged from an early age by both her parents to do artistic projects her mother by pieces of cloth and her dad by pieces of wood. Following graduation from Layton School of Art Lois published her first work Growing Vegetable Soup as she worked as a graphic designer. Her books continued with special die cut pages, bold colors, and keeping true to what her book was about whether being Native American or Mexican Southwest style. We have three of her books: (B-2) Waiting for Wings; (Board) Growing Vegetable Soup; Eating the Alphabet.
Books added to our shelves this week include: (F) Unscripted by T. Davis Bunn; Texas Forever by Janet Dailey; The Guardians by John Grisham; The Institute by Stephen King; Killer Instinct by James Patterson; Ghost Fire by Wilbur A. Smith; Child’s Play by Danielle Steel; Stealth by Stuart Woods; (JNF) Eek, You Reek! Animals That Stink, Stank, Stunk by Jane Yolen.
Remember to turn your clocks back Saturday night!
