The Knights hosted No. 3 Chandler Lions Friday and fell in a tough shutout loss in Week 9. Henryetta was unable to get their offense moving in the first stanza, allowing the Lions free roam of the field to establish a 47 -0 lead. Running away with their lead in the

second half, the Lions added another seven points to the scoreboard to secure a 55-0 shutout victory over the Knights.

The loss puts the Knights at an overall record of 3-6 and a 1-5 conference record, moving them to the number five spot in District 2A-2. Chandler quickly got on the scoreboard seconds into the first quarter. Lion wide receiver Darian Mahan made it into the end zone on a 75-yard kickoff return, immediately catapulting the Lions into a 7-0 lead.

The Knights failed to answer, giving up their possession on a turnover on downs. Failing to find success on the ground, the Knights watched the Lions tack on another touchdown to their seven-point advantage. The Lions found a gap up the middle after driving the ball to the 10-yard line. Chandler running back Dylan McKinney obtained a 9-yard rushing touchdown, but a failed two-point conversion only put them ahead 13-0.

Knights quarterback Riley Pixler was trying to fit into his new position, making a pass to wide receiver Philip Fisher. A personal foul on Chandler added another 15 yards to the play, putting the ball on the 50 yard line. A series of incomplete passes and a tackle for a loss of yards left the Knights short of a first down, giving the Lions another shot to extend their lead. Another Chandler running back, Spencer Clagg, found an opening for a six-yard drive into the end zone. A two-point conversion run from McKinney secured an early first-quarter lead of 21-0 for the Lions.

Still struggling to find their momentum, the Knights watched the Lions add 24 points to their advantage in the second quarter. Twenty seconds into the quarter Chandler running back Casmen Hill took the ball all the way to the 19-yard line. The Lions handed the ball once again to Hill, who drove in a 16-yard touchdown run.

Fisher received the punt return on the 42-yard line, but the Knights lost possession on the second play. A tackle fumbled the ball out of Fisher’s hands after a pass from Pixler.

Regaining possession of the ball, the Lions began another touchdown campaign. The Lions drove the ball up the middle, leaving just 10 yards between them and another scoring opportunity. McKinney scored a one-yard touchdown drive, while Mahan tacked on extra points from a two-point conversion run, 35-0.

Chandler quarterback Kaden Jones completed a 29-yard touchdown reception pass to Javon Frazier, garnering a 41-0 lead. Hill ensured that the Lions would come back after the half on top, earning a 53-yard run at the end of the second quarter.

The Lions had obtained an impenetrable 47-0 lead at the end of the first stanza, leaving the Knights struggling to find success in the air. Despite throwing 103 yards and making 25 attempts, Pixler was only able to find his wide receivers 11 times, leaving the Knights short of offensive chances.

After driving the ball to the end zone, the Lions drove in a one-yard run and kicked a field goal to earn a 55-0 win over the Knights.
