The Lady Dragons got the drop on the Beggs Lady Demons Thursday, gaining a 2-1 lead in the first inning. However, the Lady Dragons couldn’t hold back the heavy-hitting Lady Demons for long. Beggs went on a 7-run streak in the bottom of the second to clench an 11-3 victory over the Lady Dragons.

Dewar’s leadoff hitter Autumn Campbell got things moving in the top of the first inning. She hit a line drive out to left field for a single base hit. Following Campbell’s single, Dewar pitcher Skylar Randall smacked an out-of-the-park homer, putting two runs on the board for the Lady Dragons.

With such a strong start against veteran Beggs pitcher Kaci Phelps, the Lady Dragons were able to lock down the Lady Demons’ offense in the bottom of the first inning. Allowing just one run, the Lady Dragons still maintained their 2-1 lead.

Kobee Hewett singled on a pop fly in the infield, allowing Aubrey Mooney the chance to score. The Lady Dragons’ were only able to add one run to their lead, putting a two-run distance between them and the Lady Demons.

The momentum of the game changed in the bottom of the second inning when the Lady Demons busted out seven runs. Lady Demon right fielder Haileigh Mills hit a two RBI double that gained a 5-3 lead for Beggs.

The Lady Dragons struggled to regain their lead with the Lady Demons establishing an 8-3 lead by the end of the second inning. Beggs added one run to their lead in the bottom of the fourth and sealed the game with a two-run streak in the bottom of the fifth to end the game 11-3.
