QuikTrip (QT) has acquired both hotels on the east side of Hwy. 75 and Main Street, Ron Casey, Henryetta Public Works Director announced at the Henryetta Economic Development Authority (HEDA) meeting on Monday.
Casey said QT crews have been doing test drilling on the northern hotel site as they begin moving forward with construction plans.
It was also announced that Burger King construction crews have been working six days a week and the new business should open way ahead of schedule. Burger King will be located to the east of Taco Bueno in Henryetta.
Several road projects are planned throughout the city as mowing season slows down.
HEDA trustees approved paying an invoice from Mark Hiatt for the installation of bucking chutes, equipment and labor totaling $4,500.
Discussion was presented on how HEDA could proceed in paying the remaining $304,874.16 for the sewer project at I-40 Exit 237. Total amount HEDA committed to pay was $500,000.
Trustees approved a motion to cash in a CD at First Family Federal Credit Union and place the funds in an account to pay the balance.
HEDA approved reimbursing $13,430 to the City of Henryetta for engineering and $273,125 for improvements for the sanitary sewer system project at the I-40 237 exit south for July 9 through Aug. 12.
In other agenda items, minutes of the regular meeting and the financial report for August were approved.
HEDA trustees in attendance were Bruce Jones, Jim Beymer, Keith Estes and Jill Francis. Jennifer Munholland, Ron McAfee and Roy Madden were absent. Jill Francis recorded minutes of the meeting.
